this is why I like to cosplay, and why I can get the balls up and cosplay in public sometimes. It is being able to meet people like the little boy I met the day I wore this:

 I am sure you all saw me post it yesterday. Now I really just want to share this story with everyone.

I’ve told my friends now I’m telling you. I wore this to the Boston Promstuck meet up in early May. Unfortunately I had to leave the event early on my own. I always hate to leave a meet up on my own because I am in cosplay and confrontational people freak the shit out of me. Especially ones doped up on drugs or something. You never know what they will do. So being alone dressed like a grey alien never really sat well with me

Anyways I was on the train home trying to keep my best ‘ima bitch don’t come near me fucker’ face on as I texted one of my best friends. I glance up and notice a young boy of about 9 or 10 sitting diagonal from where i was standing. Im somewhat used to young children so I smile at him and finish up the text. I notice he is still looking so I look up. When I made eye contact with him he decided to speak

“Are you going to Disney?” he asked me, I couldn’t help but smile and all my worries about creeps vanished. Here was this little kid sitting on a train asking me if I was going to disney.

“No, I wish I were, I was at a costume party!” I decide to tell him. To hard to explain to him what homestuck was and cosplay.

“Oh. What are you supposed to be then?” He was just getting cuter with his questions cuddling his build-a-bear box to his chest. His two grandmothers (I don’t know the relation they were both elderly they could have been aunts) smile down at him and I happily answer,

“I’m supposed to be an Alien.” He looked at me curiously for a moment and his grandmother chats with me a little about what school I go to. Then he speaks again,

“I don’t think you look like an alien.” I laugh and ask him what he thinks I look like then. What he said next made me incredibly happy. Even if he didn’t think I looked like what I was supposed to be,

“You are to pretty to be an alien. I think you look like a Narnian Princess!!!” He grins happily and I grin back at him. I know it was silly for me to think the kid was the cutest thing ever since I WAS dressed as a princess. but I couldn’t help it. I continued to talk to that little boy the entire way to his stop. He even told me  ”On a scale from 1-10 your costume is a kajillion.”

I smiled my whole way home after that little kid got off the train.
